GETTING TO
DRAKE’S ISLAND

HOW  TO

GET TO THE ISLAND

Currently, the only way to see Drake’s Island is to book one of our tours that run regularly throughout the Spring and Summer months.

The Drake’s Island ferry departs from The Barbican landing stage, Plymouth where there is ample parking. You will be accompanied by one of our tour guides for a 2 hour informative tour of the hidden gem that is Drake’s Island. Learn the history of the Island, its heritage status, the wildlife and our plans to preserve it.

We are sorry to say that physical disability access onto the Island is not available at this time.

Please make sure you wear sensible walking / wellington boots. Flip flops, ballerina/pump type shoes are not recommended due to the terrain of the island.

At the end of the tour you will be returned to The Barbican landing stage.

DRAKE’S ISLAND FERRY

The public tours of Drake’s Island are run in conjunction with Plymouth Boat Trips, who provide an independent ferry service to and from the island from the Barbican Landing Stage in Plymouth.

As such when booking a tour via our website, the ferry needs to be booked independently. Once a tour has been booked a link will be provided, which in turn takes you to their website where you can book a corresponding return ferry trip.

The ferry prices are currently £7.50 for an adult and £3.50 for a child.
